I have a new DVD/Vcr recorder, and a digital T/V. Will I need more when we go digital next year?

it is possible to record digital tv on dvd/vcr...but a bit of drama with buying disc's n tapes..a twin tuner hard disc drive is a good way to go...however i have 4 different brands ..all have different operating menus etc...may need some help from your rellies or friends at first...good luck....
